SCOPE OF POSITION
Reporting to Brand Marketing Director, the Media Relations Director has full responsibility for Hoiana’s media relations strategy, from high-level planning all the way down to day-to-day execution in support of the overall resort (Gaming, Hospitality, F&B, Golf, Real Estate). This position is also responsible for promoting and protecting the company's reputation by developing and executing media and public relations strategies and plans for brand building/innovation, corporate promotions, internal communications and corporate communications/affairs initiatives through the use of various media outlets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Leading in the development, implementation and measurement of external and internal Media based communication plans for Hoiana
Manage day-to-day media relations/media requests for Hoiana brand and corporate issues
Collaborate with Brand Communications to develop stories in line with campaigns/promotions or corporate messaging
Develop written materials including press releases, Q&A, media standby statements on brand and corporate issues as required
Build relationships with key media contacts (especially media in China and Korea) and identify opportunities to proactively pitch brand and corporate stories
Assist in the development and implementation of Hoiana brand PR programs to support brand-building initiatives/innovation/corporate promotions
Help oversee program execution from kick off through to completion
Provide guidance and direction to PR agency partners and review all Brand PR materials to ensure communication is accurate, relevant and consistent with Hoiana's brand and overall corporate messaging and positions
Provide guidance to ensure coordination and communication of messages/news to both internal and external audiences
Develop FAM tour strategies and target specific media to invite for a unique experience at our property
Evaluate the effectiveness of media programs and communicate results back to business
Develop and implement online communications strategy ensuring alignment with internal communications strategy and that it includes day-to-day content development strategy and functional enhancements
Lead responsibility for Hoiana Buzz's internal communications direction and content development to continuously inform and motivate team members
Liaison and collaborate with employee groups and cross-functional teams as needed and help provide creative solutions to communication problems
Manage budget and expenses for the Media Relations team and ensure compliance
Manage to align all company’s communications to comply with brand guidelines, corporate guidelines and policies
Act as the official media spokesperson for Hoiana when appropriate and respond to all media requests contact point for all public inquiries when required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with communications and media relations
Strong contacts with travel and related media across Asia (especially China, Korea, Taiwan and/or Japan)
Familiarity with social media platforms (especially Chinese or Korean platforms) and social media marketing
Impeccable copy editing abilities (Korean or Chinese and English a MUST)
Strong leadership track record
Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
Must have China or Korean market experience, especially in marketing to affluent customers
Have the ability to work well in a team setting; problem solver; have excellent negotiation skills coupled with an ability to move and influence masses of people
Degree level in Marketing, Communications, Business administration or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
12-plus years of public relations, communications, marketing, advertising agency or related experience
Prior integrated resort experience is an added advantage
